Davy’s going home!

Davy and the band will be heading to the British Isles in a few weeks, to play two exclusive shows - one in the Isle of Man, one in London - and will then travel to Australia. Here’s the scoop from the promoters:
“Triskel Promotions in association with Running Media Group are proud to announce Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam, live at the Gaiety Theatre on Monday October 12th.
The gig will be the European album launch for the Peter Frampton produced CD ‘Coming Up For Air’, which saw a limited US release in June this year, and will be the first chance Isle of Man residents will have to get a copy of the critically acclaimed disc. The show also marks one of only two dates that Davy is scheduled to play in Europe this year (the other being at the Borderline in London on October 7th), before he heads to Australia to play the One Movement For Music festival.
Currently coming to the end of an extensive Summer US Tour, including shows opening for Joe Satriani’s new band Chickenfoot, Davy has been performing with 3 Seattle musicians - PK on bass, Steven Barci on drums and Ty Bailie on keyboards.
Chickenfoot’s drummer, Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, surprised Davy onstage in North Carolina, strumming his new PRS guitar while it was still around his neck; while just last week, Pearl Jam’s guitarist Mike McCready jammed with Davy at a Seattle show. Earlier this year Satriani called Davy his ‘favourite modern day bluesman’ in the Sunday Times.
Lenny Conroy from Triskel said he is very proud of Davy’s success “I’ve found the audiences reaction to Davy’s music breathtaking over the past few years and feel privileged that they have singled out the IOM for the launch - it seems appropriate and a particularly nice gesture to his longest standing fans, who’ve followed him from the start.”
Tickets, limited to 4 per person, will be available from 10am this Saturday (19th Sept), priced at £14, either in person from the Welcome Centre in Douglas, or by phone through the Villa Marina Booking Office - they will not be available online.”

My good friends, th Rocking Chairs caught a recent Chickenfoot gig in NH and were so, so enthusiastic about BDS. they hooked up with Davy afterwards and have a signed T Shirt which now commands pride of place in Mike’s store in Bath NH.
They did comment that the version of “Almost Cut my Hair” was the best cover they had evet heard
Look forward to hearing that at the Gaeity !!
